Senior & Mid-level Interaction Designers
Interaction Designers handle several key stages of website development. They start with developing a conceptual model – conducting research to understand the user’s goal and behaviors -- and finish with polished design blueprints and specifications.
At HUGE, Interaction Designers are really more than designers. They are also capable of helping to decide which features and attributes will best address both the user’s goals and the business goals. They have a healthy amount of control over the user experience, and their contributions are directly connected with the success of the project.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Work with the client to determine a vision for success for the website or software
• Participate in user-testing or fieldwork
• Develop user personas, scenarios of use, interaction models
• Create wireframes and functional prototypes
• Document feature behaviors in careful, painstaking detail
• Validate success with frequent usability or acceptance studies
• Collaborate with HUGE teammates, clients, and third parties to ensure that your solutions survive the development process
KEY INGREDIENTS:
- Proven, hands-on ability to apply the methodologies of interaction design to software development, and to generate designs that deliver power and pleasure to customers
- 2+ years experience designing and documenting windows applications or large-scale web-based applications, involving detailed design schematics and business rules
- Tendency to lose sleep over how to remove the need for "Cancel" buttons
- Proven ability to multi-task
- Solid writing and visual communication skills
- Familiarity with usability heuristics and relevant HCI literature
- Knowledge of Visio or other tool for generating wireframes and behavior specifications
NOTE: this position is not suitable for people who are primarily Graphic Designers, Implementation Specialists, or Usability Analysts without experience developing large-scale websites or software products. We value those people, and you'll meet many of them at HUGE, but that's not how we define Interaction Designer.
HUGE offers competitive salaries and benefits including 5 weeks paid vacation. The current position will most likely be offered on a contract basis, but all regular benefits are included. The position is placed in the Malmö/Helsingborg, Sweden, area.
